Speaking to CNBC Jan. 18, Tom Lee, Fundstat strategist predicted that Bitcoin (BTC) would get past $25 000 by the end of 2018. He had previously gone on record saying that BTC would hit this mark in 2022.
Lee now sees BTC hit the $125 000 mark in 2022.
His prediction follows a volatile week in the digital currency market with BTC going below $10 000, lower than its crush on Dec 22. Before the crush, BTC had hit $20 000.
Lee thinks that $9000 will be the bare minimum price for bitcoin this year.
“The market dip is a chance to invest. Bitcoins extreme low is now, and aggressive buyers can level that…it is the biggest chance to buy bitcoin in 2018,” he says.
Lee also predicted the trends for other altcoins. He forecasted that Ethereum classic and Ethereum would grow by 90% by the end of the year.
Today, the market started bouncing back. The top 20 altcoins are up 70 percent while BTC is up 15 percent.
